TUESDAY
Drove past a jr. alligator on San-Cap Road today—about three feet long. Bet he’ll surprise some cyclists!
THURSDAY
Tried to catch a BIG lizard for CS today—it was jumping from thing to thing in her shoppe. It jumped on me and ran up my arm. I kinda liked that.
FRIDAY
Whippoorwills really loud at night on the Bayou. S says they drive him crazy. I told him it could be car horns honking, how would he like that instead? We laughed.
SATURDAY
M&D’s bougainvillea are really in full bloom. I have a brown thumb, I guess. Four big bushes and one blossom. Fertilizer?
THURSDAY
Played hooky this afternoon and went gallery hopping. I need more walls!
SATURDAY
Out to dinner with J&M. Nemo got some awesome leftovers. Island cats have it made in the shade.
SUNDAY
Breakfast outside at Tweenies. Great white heron walked right up to our table looking for a handout. C offered him the Travel section of the NY Times. Not what he had in mind. Kayaking later with L&P. Perfect day!
WEDNESDAY
Walked to dinner with C&G. Fireflies tonight!
THURSDAY
Finished another John D. MacDonald. I’m still in love with Travis McGee, but S understands completely. What real guy wouldn’t?
SUNDAY
Ran into B—he found some Calusa stuff on Cayo Costa yesterday. Told him about the guy we met who had found the Spanish coin on the beach.
MONDAY
Another day in paradise. 78 degrees and breeze. Perfect sailing weather.
FRIDAY
Pirate Playhouse tonight with M&D. Great show! Jazz tomorrow night at B.I.G. Arts. I love winter.
SATURDAY
Took a little spin in the convertible tonight with S after the concert. Full moon over the bay. We parked on the causeway—it was pretty romantic. xox
SUNDAY
Breakfast outdoors at Tweenies, sailing with C&G, gumbo from Sunshine Cafe, and a phone call from L in the Keys. I have a lucky life.
WEDNESDAY
Saw some sarongs on sale. Remember to tell ST tomorrow!
FRIDAY
TO DO THIS WEEKEND:
Refill bird feeder.
Trim palm trees.
Fill window boxes.
Return books to library.
SATURDAY
B&T came in today for the weekend; brought the kids. Took them up to the marina to look for manatees and found one. They were excited.
TUESDAY
S met some astronomers today. He talked to them about the comet. Wish I’d been there.
THURSDAY
Might fly to Abaco tomorrow. Hope the weather cooperates.
MONDAY
Hopetown was great, nothing had changed. Had our same little cottage at H. Harbour Lodge. The lighthouse had a fresh coat of paint. More dogs than ever lying around.
WEDNESDAY
String quartet tonight—S was in heaven. Nemo was waiting for us in the driveway when we got home.
