July/August 1999 Issue

Sunday
Took a boat to Bokeelia for lunch. Saw a few tarpon rolling on the way up. Baby ospreys are getting big.

Tuesday
Evening tennis. The clay was still radiating today’s heat. Wish my game were that hot!

Wednesday
Made sushi at home tonight. Nemo was going crazy, so S gave him some tuna sashimi. That was one happy cat.

Friday
Met J on the beach for sunset. We could see four loggerhead nests from where we were sitting.

Saturday
A triple play! Got e-mails from friends in England, Australia, and Russia.

Sunday
Long, leisurely breakfast, then an afternoon spent in a cold, dark movie theater. Ahh, summer.

Thursday
Hooked up with Sabby for a few hours of catching baitfish. My net skills are picking up; he had some great fish tales.

Friday
Toni and I are planning a causeway picnic for tomorrow night.

Saturday
We got lucky! Nice breeze before sunset. Windsurfers everywhere. Great food, wine, and company. I’m going to enjoy the causeway more.

Tuesday
Stargazing tonight was awesome. I love our dark neighborhood.

Thursday
Leaving tomorrow for an A1A adventure on the East Coast. Gotta check the shuttle launch schedule.

Monday
Wow, what a weekend! Stayed in a kitschy old motel one night, an elegant high-rise the next. Ended up in Coconut Grove and forgot all about the shuttle launch.

Friday
Made my very first key lime pie.

Saturday
Took an evening golf-cart tour of Captiva. Stopped at the Duck for a beer. Ran into M&L at Sunshine.

Wednesday
Played hooky to go kayaking with Mary.
