Friday
Took S down to the new Education Center at Ding Darling—he was surprised by how nice it is.

Saturday
Saw the otters in the bayou—it’s been almost a year since they visited us.

Sunday
Played Scrabble at the Tweenies pool after a long morning beach walk. It took dark skies to make me go home and take a shower.

Tuesday
High wind has the pine trees singing.

Wednesday
The pines did a number on the yard. Nemo watched me rake for two hours.

Sunday
Nemo spent the morning on the dock, studying mullet ballet.

Tuesday
Trimmed the guava trees. Someday my fruit will come.

Wednesday
Birding note: Watched a bald eagle take off from the pine tree across the street!

Friday
Going sailing with C&G and A&M tomorrow. Can’t wait.

Saturday
Sailing was awesome: nice wind, clear water, and three dolphins.

Sunday
Went for a walk and accidentally scared a gopher tortoise back into his hole.

Tuesday
Met S for lunch at Tarpon Bay—I brought the sandwiches; he brought the binoculars.

Wednesday
M&M sent a note from England begging for key-lime cookies.

Thursday
A new world record—have now seen two license plates from Alaska in one week.

Saturday
Came home to a cardinal on our back porch—he’d crawled in the hole made by the raccoon, couldn’t find his way out again. Good thing Nemo wasn’t around.

Sunday
CM came over early, paints in tow. I posed for her on our dock.

Thursday
Finally got in some tennis with N. Met two guys from Australia, then we switched to doubles.

Friday
Actually saw eight ospreys gliding the same thermal.

Sunday
S took me flying today. Redfish Pass has changed again…

Monday
Finally convinced M that lizards close their eyes if you sing to them.

Tuesday
Rowed Chickcharnie around the bayou just before sunset. I must live in the most beautiful place on earth.

Thursday
S asked me to meet him at Blind Pass late in the day; we walked the mud flats—lots of heron footprints.

Tuesday
Rediscovered the rocking chairs on the back porch of the Sanibel Library.

Wednesday
Had a dream we had beehives in the backyard. I wish.

Friday
S helped a tortoise cross San-Cap Road—third time in two weeks!

Saturday

Found another snakeskin on our front porch, and definitely bigger than the last one. Our little sneaky snake is growing up!
